Inspector General Frontier Corps (IG FC) Major General Ubaidullah Khan Khattak, said on Thursday that incidents of kidnappings for ransom have increased in Balochistan and have reached a disturbing level. This activity, he added, has become a source of generating funds for the militants and they are especially targeting foreigners for this purpose. IG FC commented that foreign intervention is also on the increase in Balochistan.

He indicated that militants from Waziristan are involved in these activities and declared Quetta, Dera Bugti, Sibi and Turbat as volatile. IG FC charged Dr. Allah Nizar’s organization to be behind the Turbat attack on Frontier Constabulary (FC) and Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) for the ambush in Behol and denied that an operation was being conducted against the Marri tribe.
