Saudi Arabia signed a $1.7bn direct commercial sales deal with the Raytheon Company on Tuesday for upgrading the country’s Patriot Air Defense Missile System to the advanced Configuration-3. The package includes ground-system equipment, support hardware upgrades and a complete training package. The deal was announced at the Paris Air Show where commercial and military contracts are made for both civilian and military technology and aircraft.
