Two passersby were killed and 10 others wounded when militants attacked two US consulate vehicles in the northwestern Pakistani city of Peshawar on Friday morning, local and US officials said. Two US nationals in one of the vehicles were slightly wounded and their vehicle was also damaged. According to authorities, 50 kg of explosive material was used in the explosion, which shook the whole area, cracking the walls of houses and smashing windowpanes. Local TV channels say that the Pakistani Taliban have accepted responsibility for the attack. Such incidents were expected in the Post Osama security situation prevailing in Pakistan.
