Turkish PM Erdogan has said that the intervention of GCC in Bahrain can’t be termed as foreign intrusion since it is a regional task force that is recognized internationally. Earlier this week, Turkey hosted a key international summit in Istanbul that was attended by former UN Secretary General Kofi Annan, former US Vice President Al Gore and others. Speaking of the Middle East revolt, Erdogan said that the region faces a “demand for change” from people. He further said that the Arab leaders need to realize that they can’t suppress the demand for change through violence or force. The Turkish leader made it clear that his country won’t interfere but will continue to offer sincere and constructive criticism.
