The Friday morning bombing of a pipeline supplying gas to Turkey from Iran was conducted by “mercenaries” working for the US and Israel, and caused a disruption in supply, according to Iranian officials. “The export of gas to Turkey has been temporarily halted after an explosion struck the pipeline,” Majid Boujarzadeh, spokesperson for the National Iranian Gas Company, told the media. The blast took place close to the Bazargan border crossing, near the city of Maku in the western province of Azarbaijan. There were no casualties in the bombing.
