Taliban Denies Links To Pakistan

The Taliban has claimed it does not have ties to the Pakistani government. In a statement on Tuesday Taliban rejected reports that suggested it has bases in Pakistan. Additionally, the Taliban denied that any of their supporting groups had links to Islamabad. The group also said that the Haqqani group which was created by Jalaluddin Haqqani has no ties to Pakistan’s intelligence agency; the ISI.

The US has repeatedly accused Pakistan of maintaining links with the banned Haqqani network; the militant group responsible for attacks on US forces in Afghanistan, and is considering putting Haqqani network on a list of terrorists organizations.
