Somalia Offers Amnesty To Al-Shabab

In a surprise move, the government of Somalia offered al-Shabab militants an open amnesty after the fighters abandoned the capital Mogadishu on Saturday. Al-Shabab has been waging a brutal war since 2007 to overthrow the Western-backed transitional government and is still in control of much of southern Somalia.
