Sarkozy, French Nuclear Experts to Visit Japan

President Nicolas Sarkozy of France has announced his trip to Japan. This will be the first visit to the country by an international leader after the devastating quake and tsunami. The president, also acting as chairperson of the G8 and G20 nations, will meet Japanese Prime Minister Naoto Kan on Thursday, after attending a G20 summit in China on international monetary reform. Separately, France will send nuclear experts from its CEA research organization as well as Areva (CEPFi.PA) at the behest of Japanese authorities, who are trying to prevent nuclear crisis at the crippled Fukushima nuclear plant.
