Context
Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari has extended the Federally Administered Tribal Areas Political Parties Order 2002, which will put an end to more than a century long ban on political activities within FATA. The extension, approved on Friday at the President House, will allow political parties to function in the tribal areas. The president also approved an amendment to the Frontier Crime Regulations (FCR) during the ceremony.
