The PDC is an umbrella of 44 right wing entities and personalities that has been created in the wake of NATO Mohmand attack. Tahir Ashrafi, chairman of the Pakistan Ulema Council stated that the purpose of PDC is to defend Pakistan. Its main thrust is on revamping ties with US and curtailing its influence in the region. Furthermore, the group also wants to focus on water and Kashmir disputes and against granting of the MFN status to India.
