US President Obama outlined the profound challenges faced by the world such as instability, turmoil in North Africa and the Middle East, climate change and terrorism in a speech on Wednesday in central London. Obama, the first ever American president to address both British Houses of Parliament in Westminster Hall, delivered the speech during his first official trip to Britain. The president described the US-Britain ties as “one of the oldest and strongest alliances the world has ever known” in the presence of hundreds of UK politicians including Prime Minister David Cameron. He stressed that Britain and the US share common interests in ending conflicts which prolong human sufferings.
