NATO Helicopters Violate Pakistan’s Air Space

Pakistan accused NATO on of violating its airspace on Wednesday. Pakistani officials said that two NATO helicopters entered into Datta Khel around 2am. According to reports, the choppers flew around the border village of Zoi Nara before returning back into Afghanistan after the Pakistani security troops fired warning shots. NATO has denied the allegations. A spokesperson for the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) said no helicopter had crossed the border into Pakistan.

The US and NATO have repeatedly blamed Pakistan for not doing enough to combat terrorism in its territory. The western powers are trying to eliminate safe havens from the region before troop withdrawal in 2014.
