France Calls For Fresh Sanctions against Ivory Coast’s Gbagbo

France has urged the UN Security Council to impose tougher sanctions against Ivory Coast’s leader Laurent Gbagbo. A French foreign ministry spokesperson said that in view of what is going on and the growing number of brutal acts, a strong signal should be sent to Ivory Coast’s leader. The spokesperson further said that France supports the Security Council swiftly adopting fresh sanctions against Gbagbo and his supporters.
