Belarusian security authorities said that at least 12 people were killed when an explosion ripped through the Oktyabrskaya metro station in the Belarusian capital Minsk during evening rush hours. Around 150 people were also wounded in the blast. The explosive device was packed with metal objects, and the type of wounds confirmed fears that it was a terror attack. Local security authorities have made photofits of two people believed to have carried out the attack on the Minsk Metro, which will be released soon. Security measures have been beefed up around major venues, airports and railway stations in Belarus following the attack.
