The EU has issued a firm warning over a deadly wave of violence sweeping Kosovo’s Serb-dominated north, according to media reports. Ethnic Serbs torched a border crossing post Wednesday, after the government of Kosovo regained its control on Monday night. A statement issued by EU foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton said, “I strongly condemn the violence that has taken place in northern Kosovo. These latest developments are unacceptable”. She further said that the governments in both Pristina and Belgrade are responsible for restoring peace between the two sides.
