Dozens of Construction Workers Killed in Afghanistan

According to media reports, at least 35 people were killed and 20 others wounded as the Taliban fighters targeted a road construction firm in the eastern Afghan province of Paktia on Thursday. Afghan authorities described it as the worst single assault in months. Taliban spokesperson Zabiullah Mujahid has taken responsibility for the attack. In recent months, Afghan government projects have been a prime target of insurgents who want to undermine the government of President Karzai.
