Britain, Pakistan Initiate Enhanced Strategic Dialogue

British PM David Cameron and Pakistani PM Yousaf Raza Gillani initiated an enhanced strategic dialogue on Tuesday to strengthen the enduring cooperation based on mutual understanding and sovereign equality. The dialogue will help deepen ties between Pakistan and Britain, allowing the two countries to intensify partnership on shared interests that include economic development and stability, trade, cultural cooperation, security and education. Both sides will also cooperate, coordinate and consult on regional and global issues to promote peace, security and stability, according to a statement issued by the office of the Pakistani Prime Minister. Mr. Cameron announced an education assistance of 650 million pounds for Pakistan, which will be Britain’s largest academic assistance scheme in the world.
