Understanding US-Pakistan Relations

The Future Of US-Pakistan Relations

PoliTact presents a comprehensive and multidimensional view of the US-Pakistan relations.

As the great power rivalry escalates, the future direction of US-Pakistan ties is primarily dependent on the situation of Afghanistan, US-India defense and economic cooperation, and if US-China ties will move more towards cooperation or competition. Additionally, the situation of Middle East over the Iran-Israel conflict has further complicated the balance of power equation, as Pakistan plays the mediator role.

PoliTact monitors these and other variables to determine the future trajectory of US-Pakistan ties.

PoliTact initiated a special initiative ‘Pakistan Policy Forum’ (PPF) in 2025. The Forum is an independent research and training platform that generates knowledge and insights to inform policymakers and public debate on US-Pakistan relations and Pakistan’s increasing presence in regional and global issues.

The goals of PPF are to strengthen bilateral U.S.-Pakistan relations by addressing shared challenges aligned with mutual interests. As an independent policy forum, PPF rigorously analyzes the nuances of bilateral diplomacy, security policy, commercial and trade issues, opportunities for constructive dialogue, and policy debates for global peace and security.
