A senior Pakistani official on Tuesday urged closer cooperation between Islamabad and Beijing in the energy sector. Syed Naveed Qamar, Pakistani Federal Minister for Power and Water, made the comments during a press conference at the Pakistan Embassy in Beijing. Referring to the power shortages faced by Pakistan, Qamar said that the two nations should boost cooperation in fields like hydroelectric power, oil, gas and nuclear energy. Qamar visited Beijing to attend the first China-Pakistan Joint Energy Working Group (JEWG) summits, which were held between August 1st to 3rd.
