Pakistani Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar said she had been assured following discussions with Indian officials that the ties between India and Pakistan will take a new direction. She said that the Indian government had expressed its willingness to resolve issues between the two nations. The foreign minister added that following the Mumbai attacks, the assassination of Osama bin Laden and the rise in terror attacks in the country, the need for eliminating tensions between Islamabad and New Delhi is greater than ever before. Regarding the Mumbai massacre, Khar said she had assured the Indians that Pakistan won’t put any hurdles in the way towards finding a fair solution.
