Context

Intelligence and military sources said on Monday that America deployed the USS Bataan amphibious assault ship near Syria’s Mediterranean coastline with six war planes, 2,000 marines and 15 attack helicopters. This move appears to be a part of Washington’s preparations to contain Syria, Iran and Hezbollah in case of US military operation to prevent the anti-opposition massacre going on in Syria. Meanwhile, Hezbollah also started shifting its medium- and long-range missiles from northern Lebanon to the central part of the country on Monday. Western defense sources have learnt that Iran’s intelligence advised Hezbollah to shift rockets out of range of a likely US intervention in Syria.
