NATO has been gaining momentum in Libya in recent days, UK’s Defense Secretary Liam Fox told reporters at the Pentagon on Tuesday. Fox also thanked the US for providing Predator drones to assist in the military campaign in Libya. The defense secretary spoke after he and General David Jackson of the UK army met with US Defense Sectary Robert Gates and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Admiral Mike Mullen, for over three hours. According to Gates, the talks focused on the military campaign in Libya and the war in Afghanistan, where over 9,000 British soldiers are involved. The officials also discussed the changes taking place in the Middle East and North Africa, with both Fox and Gates condemning the use of force against peaceful demonstrations.
