Tribal Militia Leader Killed in a Suicide Attack in Bajaur Agency

The chief of a tribal militia and three colleagues were killed on Saturday in a suicide bombing in Bajaur Agency. The attack took place in Salarzai sub-division, northeast of Khar. According to security officials a soldier belonging to Dir Scouts was also killed in the attack, while Lt Col Hyder Bangash was injured. Media reports indicate the attack took place after a jirga was held to discuss the situation resulting from Thursday’s incident. In Thursday’s attack, Afghan militants crossed over the border and ambushed a paramilitary check post in the neighboring Lower Dir district, killing about 14 paramilitary soldiers.
