According to western media reports, a Taliban delegation has arrived in Doha for first round of tentative talks. Taliban declared earlier this month that they are opening an office in Qatar to ‘come to an understanding with other nations’. Western sources indicate the delegation includes:

Former secretary to Taliban leader Mullah Mohammad Omar, Tayeb Agha

Former Taliban deputy foreign minister, Sher Mohammad Abbas Stanekzai

Former Taliban envoy to Riyadh, Shahabuddin Delawar

Former Taliban third secretary in Abu Dhabi, Hafiz Aziz Rahman

Secretary to former Taliban UN envoy, Sohail Shaheen
