The Taliban claimed responsibility for the kidnapping of 30 Pakistani boys on Sunday. The boys who belong to the town of Bajaur, which lies opposite to the eastern Afghan province of Kunar, were kidnapped when they mistakenly crossed the border into Afghanistan.
Taliban’s spokesperson, Ehsanullah Ehsan said in a statement on Sunday that the boys had been kidnapped to punish their families and tribal elders for aiding the government. According to senior government administrator Islam Zeb, a delegation of Pakistani tribesmen has been sent to Kunar to negotiate with the tribal leaders in Afghanistan to secure the release of the boys.
