A recent poll of several blogs, Twitter tweets and Facebook posts, conducted after President Obama’s Middle East policy address, revealed overwhelming backing for Israel. Pew Research Center for the People and the Press discovered that each anti-Israeli post on social media in America was trumped on average by three pro-Israeli posts. The poll spanned a week, 48,000 online blogs and 430,000 Twitter tweets and Facebook posts. It discovered that 55 percent of social media users in the US backed Israel and opposed the idea of returning to the 1967 borders, 19 percent supported the establishment of an independent Palestinian state while 27 percent said they were neutral.
