Around 21 people were killed on Thursday when a suicide bomber smashed his explosives-laden car into a police station. The incident took place in Hilla, the capital of Babil province, around 100 kilometers south of Baghdad. More than 60 people were also injured in the bombing, which happened during a handover between morning and overnight shifts, according to the Interior Ministry. The attack seems to be the work of Al-Qaeda in Iraq and could be a revenge for the death of Osama bin Laden, said Kadhim Toman, chairperson of the Babil provincial council.
