Russian Delegation to Take Part in ASEAN Summits in Indonesia

A Russian delegation headed by Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov will attend a number of ASEAN summits on July 22-23 on the famed Indonesian island of Bali to boost Moscow’s role in South East Asia. Lavrov will take part in an ASEAN-Russian ministerial meeting, the eighteenth sitting of the ASEAN Regional Forum for security dialogue as well as another ministerial summit within the structure of East Asian summits. The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) is an economic and geo-political organization consisting of ten Southeast Asian countries. This year’s summit will mark the fifteenth anniversary of the foundation of ASEAN-Russian partnership and dialogue.
