Context
Russia has agreed to loan Venezuela $4billion for purchase of weapons, Russia’s Kommersant newspaper reported on Friday. Venezuela’s Minister of Finance and Planning Jorge Giodrani is expected to visit Russia to discuss the terms of the loans with Russian officials.
Russia has previously provided Venezuela with loans to purchase arms such as fighter jets, combat helicopters, Russian tanks and S-300 air defense systems.
