Libyan leader Col. Muammar Qaddafi has accepted the “road map” presented by the African Union to end fighting in the country, according to South Africa’s President Jacob Zuma. The road map demanded an instant ceasefire and initiating of a political dialogue between the government and the rebels. Mr. Zuma and heads of many other African nations visited Libya on Sunday to meet Qaddafi on behalf of the African Union and to broker an immediate truce between the rebel forces and Libya’s government. The African Union delegation is also due to meet the rebel leadership in the eastern Libyan city of Benghazi.
