The Foreign Minister of Pakistan Hina Rabbani Khar will visit Japan from May 23 to 26 at the invitation of Government of Japan. She is expected to hold bilateral talks with her Japanese counterpart Mr. Koichiro Gemba on bilateral relations and regional and global issues of mutual interest. The visit is taking place at a time when tensions between China and US allies in the Pacific region are on the increase, especially with US Marines being positioned in Australia.
According to media reports, she will also update the Japanese side about Pakistan’s efforts against extremism and terrorism. The foreign minister will also participate in the 18th Annual Conference on “Future of Asia”, sponsored by Japan’s Nikkei Group, and present Pakistan’s vision on the future of Asia.
