Pakistan and the US are moving in the direction of yet another confrontation, potentially more serious than all former disagreements, as the Obama administration gets ready to convince Islamabad to stop the development of nuclear arms material. US media reports recently suggested that the United Nations General Assembly next month in New York would be the venue for the new move and that America has the support of four nuclear powers in this matter. NBC news reported on Wednesday that the US was also considering “the worst-case scenario of attempting to snatch Pakistan’s 100-plus nuclear weapons if it feared they were about to fall into the wrong hands”.
