Obama Meets His New Team for Afghanistan

US President Obama met with high-ranking civilian and military officials of his new team for Afghanistan on Tuesday. The meeting took place at the White House with new US Ambassador for Afghanistan Ryan Crocker and Lt. Gen. John Allen, Obama’s choice to replace Gen. David Petraeus as the new commander of NATO and US troops in Afghanistan, to discuss progress being made in Afghanistan and execution of the next phase of US strategy for the country. Vice President Joe Biden, Defense Secretary Leon Panetta, National Security Advisor Tom Donilon and Joint Chiefs of Staff Adm. Mike Mullen were also present at the meeting.
