Around 331 US contractors in Pakistan, many of them believed to be involved in spying activities under diplomatic cover, are to leave the country as part of a secret agreement between the two parties for the release of US citizen Raymond Davis, according to a media report. Pakistani officials have agreed to not declare these American nationals “persona non grata” if they leave Pakistan voluntarily within a specific time. The report also said that the deal includes a significant increase in weapons and aid and compulsory scrutiny of anyone seeking diplomatic immunity.

Meanwhile, President Zardari told a visiting US delegation that drone attacks in FATA would have to end, and they have become “intolerable.”
