Major international powers met on Thursday to discuss what the US describes as an inevitable “post-Gaddafi Libya” as billions of dollars are poured into a global fund to support rebels. US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and her counterparts from NATO and other nations taking part in the aerial campaign against Gaddafi’s regime held a third round of Libyan talks in the UAE capital Abu Dhabi. At least five donors pledged over $1.4bn to help support Libyan opposition groups. But Clinton didn’t offer any direct US financial assistance to the rebels, instead pledging additional “$26.5mn to help all the victims of this conflict, including Libyan refugees.”
