Senior Israeli defense official stated in a press briefing on Sunday that a ‘single strike’ would not be enough to halt Iran’s nuclear program. Israel was referring to its air strike in 1981 in Iraq which destroyed the country’s atomic reactor. The official also said that Iran’s biggest fear is the US, which stands the best chance of forcing the Iranian regime to change its stance on its nuclear program. Israeli leaders urged Washington to use military threats to force Iran into compliance.

Israel is believed to be the only nuclear country in the Middle East at present.
