Israeli Foreign Ministry sources on Sunday said that there are little chances of Israel bringing about the annulment of the derogatory Goldstone Report about its conduct in 2008 Gaza offensive. After Judge Richard Goldstone’s column appeared in Washington Post in which he expressed regret about accusing Israel of intentionally targeting civilians in his report on the Gaza offensive, Israeli leadership immediately urged the UN and international bodies to annul the derogatory report. However, despite Israeli leadership’s fervent demands to rescind the entire report, Foreign Ministry sources believe that Israel at best could persuade Mr. Goldstone to turn the newspaper column into an official note to the UN.
