Context
The Pakistan army arrested a top al Qaeda leader and two other senior commanders on Monday. Younis al Mauritani, is thought to be Osama’s trustee for hitting targets of economic importance to the West, including gas and oil pipelines. The Al Qaeda leader was arrested in the suburbs of Quetta with technical assistance from America.
Along with Mauritani, Abdul Ghaffar al Shami (Bachar Chama) and Messara al Shami (Mujhaid Amino) have also been captured in the operation.
