Pakistani officials and tribal leaders with ties to Haqqanis said that the ISI wanted the outfit to participate in peace negotiations, suggesting that Islamabad was unlikely to pay attention to US pressure that it should act soon, reported The Wall Street. The Haqqani Network has carried out a number of attacks on US and coalition forces in Afghanistan. A tribal leader from the North Waziristan tribal area, who has close contacts with Haqqani, said that the group has been alarmed by the ongoing CIA drone attacks and the death of Bin Laden in Abbottabad.
