Iran on Tuesday accused US of trying to ruin its ties with other Arab states. Iranian Foreign Minister Ali-Akbar Salehi told ambassadors and representatives of international organizations at a conference in Tehran, that Washington’s “evil scenario” was to impose illegal sanction on Iran and to isolate it from its neighbors. He also accused the US of trying to regain its lost position in the Middle East. Salehi appealed to other countries to refrain from hostilities and to remain vigilant “in the face of baseless allegations.”
Iran has said it is willing to examine evidence regarding Tehran’s involvement in a plot to kill the Saudi Ambassador. Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast, however clarified that Tehran still held that the US accusations were a scheme against the Islamic Republic.
The US has identified Manssor Arbabsayar and Gholam Shakuri, a member of Iran’s Qud force as conspirators in the plot.
