A Chinese analyst on Sunday said that India usually looks at development and economic matters merely from a security point of view, after reports in the Indian media said that the government was concerned over China extending its rail network. The Times of India said on Sunday that the decision by China to extend its rail network from Xigaze to Lhasa was a matter of concern for the Indian government because the move is likely to lessen Nepal’s reliance on India. Moreover, the extension of the rail network to Kathmandu would allow Nepal to directly import gasoline products from China.
