Last week’s killing of Iran’s nuclear scientist in Tehran was the first public operation of Mossad chief Tamir Pardo, German newspaper Der Spiegel claimed on Monday. The report, which quotes an unnamed Israeli intelligence source, investigated the series of murder attempts against Iranian scientists in the last 18 months and identified Mossad as the agency at the heart of the Israeli campaign against Tehran’s nuclear program. Reports said that atom scientist Darioush Rezaei was shot dead in Tehran last Sunday. It was later revealed he was working on the development of switches of a nuclear bomb and had been associated with a research institute in the north of the country.
