Col Muammar Qaddafi is ready to leave, France’s foreign minister stated Tuesday citing representatives of the Libyan leader, in the strongest sign so far the embattled dictator is planning to step down. Though Alain Juppe denies any direct talks with Qaddafi’s regime, he confirmed that Libyan officials were in touch with his representatives, and the message was clear. “Everyone (involved in Libya’s civil war) has contacts with everyone else. The Libyan regime sends its messengers all over, to Turkey, to New York, to Paris. We receive emissaries who are saying, ‘Gaddafi is prepared to leave. Let’s talk about it,'” Juppe said in an interview.
