Fifteen Dead in Explosion in Tourist Café in Morocco

Up to 15 persons, including foreigners, were killed in a blast Thursday in a crowded café in Morocco’s main tourist city of Marrakesh, and officials said that the early signs suggested it was an act of terrorism. According to media reports, the explosion occurred on the second floor of a café at Jamaa el-Fnaa square in Marrakesh, a venue that is generally bustling with foreigners. Authorities didn’t say if Islamic militant groups were suspected of involvement in the incident.
