Context
In yet another attempt to advance its military capabilities to tackle the challenges of a modern era, Chinese army wants to nurture officers of superior caliber, able to operate advanced military hardware and master the art of modern warfare by 2020, said a military blueprint. Details of the blueprint were posted on the Ministry of National Defense’s website on Monday, following its approval by the head of the Central Military Commission. The People’s Liberation Army already has a range of state-of-the-art weapons; however, the quality of its troops is lagging, according to the blueprint.
