Senior British Foreign Office sources said there was “credible information” that Iran is providing paramilitary training and riot control gear to Syrian armed forces. Furthermore, members of Iranian Revolutionary Guard are providing equipment and technical guidance to troops loyal to President Al-Assad, the sources claimed. The allegations come as Al-Assad administration continues its policy of firing shots at demonstrators on the streets of major Syrian cities. In the latest incidents, around 38 people were killed over the weekend in the northern city of Jisr Al-Shughour, according to human rights groups.
