Just a day after British Prime Minister David Cameron rebuked military officers for publicly criticizing his government, Chief of the General Staff Gen. Sir Peter Wall said in a TV show that Cameron’s 2015 deadline to halt combat operations may slip. The prime minister had furiously told NAVY and RAF chiefs who expressed their concerns over the Libyan intervention, “You do the fighting, I’ll do the talking.” Cameron is now at variance with the chiefs of the Security Forces over military campaigns in both Libya and Afghanistan, sparking fears of strained ties between military and civilian leaderships. General Wall’s interview will be broadcasted on BBC on Wednesday night.
