Syria has warned Jordan from getting involved in the regional military quagmire. Earlier this week, Jordan embarked on a large-scale mobilization near Syrian borders, with its army prepared to follow suit. The move caused an outburst from Syrian President Bashar Assad who warned King Abdullah, Syria would use force against Jordan if it joins Turkey and Israel in the deployment of troops. Assad also warned that Damascus would launch surface missiles against Jordanian cities in the event of an Israeli intervention. Amman has said it will not continue to deploy and it strongly condemns the actions taken by Assad’s regime.
Tensions have escalated in the Middle East at an alarming rate. According to media reports, Turkey and Israel have begun preparations for war games in coordination with NATO. Syria has also threatened to use missiles against Israel in the event of an attack.
