As the Pakistani government stays defiant amid Supreme Court’s orders in several cases including the National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO), Hajj scam and National Insurance Company Limited (NICL), there are fears that the apex court will invoke Article 190 of the constitution for the accomplishment of its orders. Constitutional experts say that if the court asks the army to help gets its orders executed, the army will be obliged to act in support of the judiciary. Article 190 clearly says: “All executive and judicial authorities throughout Pakistan shall act in aid of the Supreme Court.”
