Pakistan is pushing America to leave an airbase in Balochistan which the CIA has been reportedly using to carry out its drone campaign in the country’s tribal regions, Pakistani Defense Minister Ahmed Mukhtar said. His statement confirms that Washington has been told to leave the Shamsi Airbase in the most recent sign of growing tensions between Pakistan and the US. Mukhtar also told reporters in Islamabad Wednesday that time has come to re-examine anti-terror cooperation with America.
According to a US official “That base is neither vacated nor being vacated,” he said.
